The Artist's Way Week One 8

So this is a continuation of the "imaginary lives" exercise. I wanted to pretend to be a yarnie. So I dyed some of my handspun yarn. This was a pretty easy dye, I used vinegar and food coloring, no fancy chemicals. Anyway, here's a picture of my yarn in its dyebath:



I'll post a picture of the finished skein when it's dry.

Ooh, this looks so cool! Aaaaand, I dunno what the exact requirements are to be "yarnie," but I don't see any pretending here, just yarn!

So a "yarnie" is someone who makes yarn professionally. So, I don't think I qualify. But I do make yarn.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't want to be a professional yarnie. I feel like it would probably take some of the joy I experience with fiber art out of the thing. But sometimes it seems appealing.
