So, update on my ski training. Today I spent time learning how to use the basic adaptive equipment. Which mostly consisted of a bamboo pole, where an instructor can ski on either side of a student while everyone holds the pole (harder than it looks, we had one person in our group who fell twice), and a set of tethers you can clip to a belt to help steer the person wearing the belt. I definitely preferred the tethers to the pole. Tethering is not as hard as I thought it was going to be. I thought that I would be getting pulled, but not so much. Mostly, you ski following the person in front of you and try to control  your speed so you won't get beside or in front of them.

I'm tired, but my legs don't hurt like they did yesterday. Probably because yesterday was orientation and we did a lot of standing around, and standing is definitely not a comfortable thing to do in ski boots. The one discomfort is that I didn't wear sunscreen yesterday or today, and I think my cheeks are mildly burnt. Whoops. I shall have to buy a small tube to keep in my jacket pocket.

Next training is January 3rd. I plan to train four days in a row, through the 6th. We'll see how I hold up.
