Tattoo!

And it's finished. After two sessions totaling 4.5 hours. I'm so happy with it. But fuck is it sore. The color definitely hurt more than the linework and dotwork. The artist, Owen Lostetter, has a gentle hand and was very patient with me.

Thanks. Yeah, it's super detailed. I'm amazed at how much detail, which is really only possible because of the big size, so it was worth it. The pain wasn't too bad except for on the shading of the bee, in both black and yellow. That's right over the bone and the shader really hurt!

I bet! That's sort of the thing with tattoos... I mean, you can ask "Does it hurt?" and everyone is going to give you a different impression. Over my tailbone it was agony, but on my ankle? Psh, nothing! But it's worth it when it's done!

That's surprising because I've heard that the ankle is really sensitive. I think that's what I will do next. I want a hedgehog on my foot.

But yes, it was worth it. I kept telling myself, the pain is temporary and the tattoo is forever.

Maybe it depends on which part of the ankle? I can see some of it being sensitive! Mine is text, so it runs high and horizontal.. luckily, it only took a few minutes, too! I'm always amazed how much ink they can get done in a short time.

A hedgehog sounds absolutely adorable!! I want to get one with heather flowers, but they aren't really a flower that lends itself to nice tattoo designs. So I'm still trying to figure out how that would work!

I guess there's a difference between "ankle" and "foot" and from what I understand the foot is a more painful spot.

I've seen some nice heather tattoos. You just need to find a good artist.

Oh yeah, I think a foot would be agony! Oww... Plus, apparently they fade really quickly, because the skin there gets so much wear.

That's the plan! There's no artist in my own anyway, so it won't be for a few years at least.
